Oxair Gases uses the extensive knowledge and backing of Air Products and Chemicals Inc, USA for the design, manufacture and supply of the following cryogenic systems.
Large VolumesA cryogenic on-site system is suitable for customers who require large volumes of product in a continuous fashion. These can be purchased or rented from Oxair Gases. These systems produce tonnage quantities of oxygen or nitrogen. Gases are produced by compressing air to such low, or cryogenic, temperatures that it liquefies and can then be separated into nitrogen and oxygen by distillation. Gaseous oxygen plants supply from approximately 1,550 to 93,000 m3/h (55,000 to 3.3 million scfh) of product and can also produce a small amount of liquid oxygen for peak periods or plant outages. These plants are commonly used in the steel and chemical industries. Gaseous nitrogen plants are available in two styles:
The metals, electronics, glass, and nuclear industries commonly use the packaged plants. Other industries such as oil and gas recovery, ammonia synthesis, and natural gas BTU stabilisation prefer the larger tonnage plants. Liquid-only cryogenic on-site plants produce large quantities of liquid oxygen, nitrogen, and argon, in volumes from 50,000 to 1.5 million scfh. They typically supply merchant markets. Smaller VolumesPRISM® HPN (High-Purity Nitrogen) Systems produce low to moderate flows of high-purity gaseous nitrogen. Since the gas is produced at the customer’s site, it is a cost-effective alternative to trucked-in liquid. Carbon dioxide and water are removed from the air stream as the compressed air is passed through a dryer. The air then undergoes cryogenic separation. A small amount of liquid nitrogen is also used to provide refrigeration for the process.
