Heal Africa Delighted With Oxair’s Life-Saving PSA System

A reliable supply of medical oxygen to hospitals in remote and war-torn locations proves a constant challenge due to infrastructure issues and logistical constraints.

Heal Africa hospital in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo had relied on tanker oxygen deliveries from neighbouring states. Their equipment was discovered supplying only 60% purity versus the required 93% for medical applications.

The facility installed an Oxair OA450 system, which delivers constant oxygen of 95 percent purity through PSA filtration. This process separates oxygen from compressed air. The gas is conditioned, filtered then stored in a buffer tank for on-demand use.

The installation was funded through the Heal Africa charitable trust at a reduced rate. Oxair can happily provide a charitable rate for organisations with a bona fide charitable status and the staff at Heal Africa are absolutely delighted with the new OA450 system.

PSA Oxygen offers better patient care with a permanent flow of high-quality oxygen. In this case a plug and play system with output pressure and a flow rate to suit the needs of the hospital, and capable of piping oxygen around the hospital to every department as needed. Or, in cases where the hospital does not have a central piping system, Oxair will supply an on-site cylinder filling system. It’s a highly cost-effective and hygienic alternative to the inconvenience and uncertainty of cylinder delivery.

Oxair’s system delivers constant oxygen of 94-95 per cent purity through PSA filtration, a unique process that separates oxygen from compressed air. The gas is then conditioned and filtered before being stored in a buffer tank to be used directly by the end user on demand.
